Had enough of what? Had enough of rude undergrads copping an attitude, and being rude. If someone has an emulator I would be interested in knowing some of the tech details, if they know them. If not, and they cannot post it, which could happen for various reasons, so be it.
So less of this shut-up business. So you are at MIT, big deal, that means little in the outside world. Some of us are trying to solve real emulator problems and every bit of information helps, even if it only that someone has been able to do it, if only partially. The list of games that it can, and cannot run, would tell me a lot about its capbilities.
I’ve seen a lot of talk about if a sega emulator for a pc can be dome. Well I’ve not only heard of onne I’ve got the thing and YES it works. Has rather nasty system req’s. 486 8 megs ram 1 meg VL vid card. But it do in fact work.

Thank you very much. I will be posting it soon but as I’m on a shell acount still and the file is over a meg it may take some time.

As for some tech info. here goes.
in order to use the thing you must build or buy from teh people that made it an adaptor that plugs into the sega. This alows your PC to controll the sega and pull the code off teh cartridge and rebuild it in a speacial type of asembly code file. Dont try and edit this as its not normal asm’ code. Any how. Once you have the files you type sega-em and pick from the list of games you have on the disk. Pack a game plug in a Gravis pad turn up the SB-Pro and kick back.
I think (but am not sure) it will use a normal copier like you can get via internet. But you may need there ver’ of the thing. System req’s are as follows.
486. 8 megs ram. Sound Blaster Pro/16 (No normal SB) 1 meg or better FAST V-L bus vid card.
Thats it but there rather steep.

1. What’s your beef with MIT? The author of the post didn’t make an issue of it. Why are you? Wait. Don’t answer that – there’s enough garbage here already.
2. I haven’t seen anything at all helpful or useful in any of the Sega emulator posts. I just see a lot of people bickering back and forth about whether or not it is possible. I really hate to hear people talk like that. It’s easier than thinking, which is why there’s so much of it. I agree with the original post: either post an FTP site or give some source, or stop saying it exists. As for the "is it possible" posts: drop ‘em. Try it out for yourself and find out. If you want to discuss emulation issues ("How can this be done", etc) then do it. Stop this nonsense boasting about programming experience and the similarities/differences between 80×86 and 680×0.

Well, I’ll stand up for him here. Sega101.zip *does* exist; I’ve seen it (I didn’t download it though). However, I am reliably informed that it contains executables and data for various italian and spanish versions of MS-DOS, renamed to things that look as if they might be a Sega emulator.
