Would be useful, though, wouldn’t it? A Pentium or PPC could
easily emulate a 286/386 as if it were a foreign processor,
just by chucking raw power at it, and no one would have to
‘Reboot to DOS mode’ and let their machine swap config.sys
and autoexec.bat files about just to play Star Control II
or Ultima VI.

Now Gravitar scrolling is almost OK, it’s not as smooth as it was
in 0.30, but it would be playable if it wasn’t broken. Now,
when exiting a level (when it’s zooming out), it tilts completely.
Sometimes it also locks up and messes up the graphics (i.e
there’s a complete vector mess in the screen).

This same thing happens when you shoot the reactor, and start
flying out, the game suddenly jumps to the starting screen.

I know m33b3 is a beta version, but this same problem was also
in the previous betas. Perhaps changing the "timing" in vector games
caused this.

The best game of Mame, and it seems to be impossible to get it
working. What have I done to deserve this!

PS: Xevious and Atari System 1 games are much slower in these betas.
Xevious was perfect in 0.30.

Hello,

I would like to know the name of an old arcade game which isn’t yet
emulated
by MAME (I think). Unfortunately I don’t know much of it any more but I
did
like it quite much. Here’s what I still know:

- The game was in the arcades around the same time as the shooter 1942
(1984 ?), Dragons Lair (1983) and Moon Patrol (1982), so I think the
year
 was about 1983.
– The game consisted of a map-part where you choosed your way and an
action-
 part in the various sub-levels.
– In the map-part you could choose your way from a starting point to a
destination. The map consisted of ways with way bifurcations (spawned
into
2 ways) and graphical symbols on these ways (I only remember a
mountain)
which corresponded with the sublevels, where you had to fight if you
chose
the corresponding way. You didn’t fight on this map, but you had to
fight
in the sublevels. Each time you crossed such a symbol you were zoomed
into
a sublevel where you had to fight. The first map was quite small and
you
had only one way-bifurcation. The maps in the following levels
constantly
became bigger and had more bifurcations and sublevelsymbols.
– In the sub-levels you saw your character from a side-view. In the
sub-level
which had the mountain as symbol on the map you were under the earth
and
had to find a way out from left to right. The underground ways had a
diameter
of approximately 1/3rd to 1/4th of the whole screen. The first
sub-levels
were quite short, but with each level they got bigger. Your character
had
a sword for fighting, and maybe some other weapons. The sub-levels
scrolled
and were much bigger than the screen.
– When you reached the destination on the map you also got into a
sub-level,
where you were confronted with a dragon (I think so, but am not really
sure).
After you had defeated the dragon you advanced one level and got a
bigger map
 with more bifurcations.
– The game had an action-adventure like atmosphere.

Thats all I still know, and I thank you in advance for any hints for the
name
of the game !
