I’ve downloaded two Atari800 emulators for my Powermac — Rainbow and
WACKE. Rainbow seems to be farther ahead in development — it has support
for 4 joysticks, 5200 emulation, and some other cool options. However, it
seems to run pretty slow with certain games (Jumpman, for example). WACKE
seems to run faster and be just as compatible, but it doesn’t have as good
an interface or as many options.
Also, I downloaded two C64 emulators — Frodo and Power64. I think that
Power64 is definitely a better program. (Frodo only supports one
controller as far as I can tell – it doesn’t really say.)
I’m thinking about sending in some money for these programs, but I want to
know if anyone has messed around with any of these programs for an
extended period of time, and if so:
(1) Which ones do you prefer?
(2) Have you found any serious problems (i.e., a large selection of
software doesn’t work)?
