ARCTIFOX

Hi,
Does anyone remember this great polygon tank sim? Written by Dynamix
and published by Electronic Arts in 1987…It was available on a variety
of systems.
I have looked on the few Amiga sites I know about, for a disk image of
this game, but I can’t find one. I am running UAE on my PC.
Can anyone help with this? I love this game! I’m really looking for the
Amiga version, but the ST ver would be good, instead, if anyone has
that.

Thanks,
-Sam Jeffreys <ex…@netcomuk.co.uk>

And yes, I hope one day I will be able to help some one else out,
instead of just asking for help all the time ;)

Vstick questions

I have read about this and it seems very nice but i would like to hear
from some people who have actually bought it.
How accuarate is it? If you have played the actual arcade games a lot
how would you compare it. Does it feel exactly the same? Is there any
lag ?
How durable is it. This is VERY important. Is it possible to buy the
individual components in case you break something and need to replace
a part?
I already have a nice joystick for every other game I have so I would
be buying this for KEM,  MGE and MAME only. 79 is a lot of money but
if it feels exactly the same as the real arcade controllers then it
would be well worth it. As cool as the emulators are so many of the
games are prety much unplayable with the keyboard or a regular
joystick. Robotron, crazy climber and battlezone to name a few. Also
peter packrat, if and when it gets done,  also used a duel joystick
config. If the emulated peter packrat turns out as good as some of the
other emulated games then this alone would almost justify the purchase
for me as that was the last arcade game i really got into and a
controller like this would be needed.
thank you

Rotating screen on MAME??

Just wondering if anyone can help me out. I’m trying to rotate the
screen under the new version of MAME using either -ror or -rol on the
command line. Just as it tries to load the game it crashes out with
tonnes or errors like:

Shutting down Allegro
Exiting due to signal  SIGSEGV
Page fault at eip=0003c22d, error=0004
eax=00000001 ebx=0000003c ecx=000000d4 etc etc etc
esp=00317ee8 program=C:\MAME\MAME.EXE
cs: sel=00a7 base=10000000 limit=003affff
etc
etc
etc

Call frame traceback EIPs:
0x0003c22d

Ive run this on two different computers and they both get the same
problem.

Anyone have an ideas on getting the rotation working??

Thanks for any help.

MAME Wish List: Flying Shark

It should be less difficult to emulate than 1942

Tag Team Wrestling

Does anyone remember this game and is anyone trying to develop an emulator
for it?  I haven’t been able to find anything on this game.

Emulating arcade games

 To all,

First of all please DO NOT mis-interpret this comment.

I’ve been a regular follower of MAME for the last few months, and I am
absolutely happy that there are people out there taking the effort to bring
back these arcade games to the masses, however speaking for myself I would
like to know why not more newer and in my opinion "better" games are not
being emulated. Can I take the example of "Operation Wolf – 1988",
Super-Hang-On etc.

Maybe there is a very good reason why these technically superior games have
not been emulated.

[Prob w/ Amiga file]

Is it possible to download softwares directly from Aminet on my PC and
then convert those files to .adf disks ?

Or do I have to stick to .adf format all the time ?

Jocelyn

p.s. For those who wandered why PC users look for Amiga games: just try
it! See the design and the originality involved in certain games.

p.p.s. With UAEL, have anybody succeed in emulating a hard drive volume
?
